Go back to "Blut Schändung"
"Blut Schändung" is German for "blood violation" (literal translation). My
art instructor wrote "weak background" on this one, but I don't agree with
him. I was trying to portray the feeling of lifelong regrets. The
sunglasses represent a repression of self examination due to past regrets.
The tear of blood (hard to see) reinforces this feeling of regret and lack
of self worth. The pitch background symbolizes the way we often look at
our own past ("The good is oft interred with the bones" sort of thing).
