Pauline Mathilde Schwertfeger was born on September 16, 1860 in Klein-Golmkau, West Prussia. The village is today Gołębiewko (Tczew), Gdańsk, Poland. The baptismal ledger of the Catholic church at nearby Gardschau shows that Pauline was baptized on September 17, 1860, with Franz Chmielecki and Barbara Modrejewska being witnesses.

Death ledger records indicate that Pauline died of smallpox in Lagschau, West Prussia on December 8, 1871. The record indicates that Pauline was 11 years, 1 month in age at the time of her death.

Pauline was interred on December 11, 1871. The location is not stated, but it likely was in nearby Kladau.
