Frank August Patz was born at home (252 Orange Street, Buffalo, New York). on December 18, 1899. Frank was baptized, apparently on the same day, by Fr. Ferdinand Kolb of Saint Boniface R.C. Church, 124 Locust Street, Buffalo.

Frank served in World War I, where he was a Private in Battery A of the 44th Field Artillery.

Frank married Katherine T. Breen, who was born on April 30, 1900.

Frank, at one time learned the shoemaking trade and had made a shoe repair box for his father, John Martin Patz. When John died, the box was passed to Bernard George Patz, and then upon his death to his son Bernard William Patz. Bernard William Patz can remember his father using it for fixing, resoleing, and re-heeling his and his children's shoes when they were kids and times were tough. The box still contains some of the tools and steel shoe holders that go with it. Bernard William Patz notes today the he would be more than willing to pass it on to any of his Uncle Frank's descendants it they were interested and would contact him.

Frank died on January 10, 1972. Katherine died on May 7, 1978. Both are interred in Lot 0055V (Veteran's Hill), Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham, Massachusetts.
