Marie Schwert was born on July 11, 1912. She was the oldest of three children of Paul J. and Mary Rose (née Wagner) Schwert. On July 14, 1912, Marie was baptized at Saint Boniface R.C. Church, 124 Locust Street, Buffalo, as "Mariam Juliam Schwert." The baptism was performed by her uncle, the Rev. John Bernard Schwertfeger / Schwert.

Marie went to Mount Saint Joseph's High school in Buffalo (her uncle, Rev. John Schwert, paid her way).

On June 24, 1944, Marie married John E. Kinsella.

John died on September 2, 1975. Marie died on July 19, 1993. They are interred in the St Anne de Beaupre section of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore, NY.
