George Leo Rebescher was born on October 9, 1912, in Buffalo, New York. He was baptized on October 13, 1912, by Fr. Ferdinand Kolb of Saint Boniface R.C. Church, 124 Locust Street, Buffalo, NY. George attended St. Joseph Collegiate High School. He was employed as a bricklayer, working with his father.

On August 2, 1941, George married Frieda Christine Scholer at St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church in Buffalo. Frieda was a daughter of Max W. and Lina (née Hoefler) Scholer, who had emigrated to the United States from Heitersheim, Baden, Germany. Max owned "Max's": a restaurant at Main and Ferry (before that at Genesee and Jefferson. Frieda's funeral mass card indicates that she was born on March 17, 1912. The couple resided on Davidson Street.

George died on January 29, 1999. Frieda died on August 26, 2001. Both are interred in Section F, Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY.
