Helen Rose Rebescher
(1899 - 1964)


Helen Rose Rebescher was born on August 9, 1899, in Buffalo, New York. She was baptized by Fr. Ferdinand Kolb of Saint Boniface R.C. Church, 124 Locust Street, Buffalo, on August 13, 1899. Her sponsors were Franz (= "Frank") and Julia (née Schlia / Schlee) Schwertfeger / Schwert.

Family records provided by Geri Ellerbrock indicate that Helen worked as a secretary and buyer at Woolworth's 5 & 10 on Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. She never married. Helen lived with Mr. and Mrs. Needing in Cleveland, who thought of her as their adopted daughter. Helen became their caregiver in their advanced years, and they in turn eft their estate to her in appreciation.

Helen died at the age of 64 on February 16, 1964, at Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo. She is interred in Lot 22, Sec. 5, United German & French Cemetery (Pine Hill), Cheektowaga, NY.
